Lirac

Tasting notes

Born on clay, rolled pebbles, and pale limestone, this Lirac carries the quiet strength of its southern Rhône home. A 50/50 blend of Grenache and Syrah, it shows fresh red fruit, blackcurrant, and blackberry, leading into a rounded, ample palate. Long macerations give it depth, with spice and a final touch of licorice on the finish. A wine rooted in place, honest in expression, and built for both pleasure now and patience ahead.<br><br><b> The Craft<br><br></b> - Traditional vinification with fully destemmed grapes. - Long maceration and 30-day fermentation with temperature control. - Aged 6 months on fine lees. - 50% Grenache, 50% Syrah. - Serve at 16–18°C. - Enjoy now or cellar for several years.<br><br><b> The Occasion<br><br></b> Grilled red meats, tender cheeses, or any evening that leans toward warmth, spice, and a glass with a lingering, generous finish.

Domaine Jocelyn Raoux rests in Lirac, just north of Avignon and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Jocelyn is the fourth generation to tend these vines. After studies in viticulture, oenology, and commerce — and time spent learning abroad — he returned in 2015 to take up the family estate and shape a cellar of his own.

Today, the estate spans 32 hectares, largely within the Lirac Cru, with 15 dedicated to its bottlings of Côtes du Rhône, Lirac (red, white, and rosé), and Tavel. Syrah, Grenache, and very old Carignan grow on clay and stones typical of the appellation, giving reds with depth, structure, and quiet red-fruit aromatics.
