"I have a pretty similar wine at home — pity, because I definitely like this one much better," said a friend, glass in hand, during an apéritif we hosted. Familiar, yet ever surprising: Henri Boudau is a wine that has only grown on us.
I'm a nerd, I want every detail
Shaped by Mediterranean red soils over limestone, this Grenache Blanc and Macabeu blend reflects the Roussillon sun with quiet elegance. Pear, butter, and a clean, fresh finish: Henri Boudau finds exactly the right balance between richness and restraint. This is very much a gastronomic white, worthy of the finest tables.
The craft
- Hand-harvested.
- Destemmed grapes.
- Fermentation at 18°C in stainless steel.
- 3-month aging on fine lees in oak with regular stirring.
- 13% ABV.
- Lifespan: 6 years.
The occasion
Henri Boudau deserves to be paired with dinner: white fish carpaccio, artichokes and capers. We must say we also love it with fried chicken.
Geraldine Boudau
The Boudau family has tended this land for over a century, yet for Pierre, Véronique, and Géraldine, winemaking is a return to their roots — a way to honor the Roussillon and its traditional cépages.
Pierre and his sister Véronique took over the estate thirty years ago. Pierre now guides the organic vineyards, guided by a conviction that agriculture must protect the land it depends on.
Véronique brings discipline and experience to the cellar, shaping the style of the wines. Géraldine, Pierre’s niece, left the corporate world in 2020 to join the estate. She vinifies each cépage and each parcel separately to capture the essence of every vintage.
Here, nothing is systematic. Each step is carried out with rigor and attention, and a quiet devotion to the Roussillon landscape.
