From the hillsides of Saint-Andelain, La Charmette is pure Sauvignon Blanc shaped by Kimmeridgian marl and limestone. Crystal-clear and pale gold, it opens with citrus, greengage, white flowers, and a touch of chalk. The palate is silky and harmonious, defined by clean fruit and quiet mineral precision. A Pouilly-Fumé of finesse and freshness, built for pleasure now and contemplation later.<br><br<b> The Craft<br><br</b> - 100% Sauvignon Blanc. - Grapes pressed using a pneumatic press; cold settling. - Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures. - Aged on lees for 5–8 months. - 13% ABV; 0.7 g/L residual sugar. - Serve chilled at 10–12°C.<br><br<b> The Occasion<br><br</b> An elegant aperitif, and ideal with seafood, grilled or sauced fish, scallops, and delicate white meats — any table that calls for purity, lift, and quiet mineral grace.
The winemaker
Benoit Chauveau
The Chauveau family has grown vines in Pouilly since the nineteenth century, when their grapes were still sent to the local cooperative. After earning his agricultural engineering degree, Benoît returned in 1995 to take over his parents’ and grandparents’ vineyards, building the family’s first cellar to make their own wines. He leads the viticulture and winemaking, alongside his wife Emmanuelle, who guides the estate’s administrative and commercial life. Their daughter Lise—an agricultural engineer and oenologist—joined in 2021 and planted nine additional hectares of Pouilly-Fumé in 2023.
Today, the family farms around thirty hectares and produces roughly 200,000 bottles a year with a steady devotion to Pouilly’s hillsides.
