Wine No 5 from Veins of the Valley Collection

Fanciulle

Villagio 2021

IGT Toscana

Tasting notes

Some wines invite just one more glass — and the 2021 Villagio is exactly that kind of wine. It strikes a seamless balance between lush red berry aromas and a bright, refreshing acidity that keeps you coming back. We will admit it freely: we are completely under its spell. The Craft

- Hand-harvested on 20-year-old vines. - Indigenous malolactic fermentation.
- Aged ⅓ in French oak barrels, ⅔ in tanks.
- No fining or filtering.
- 12.5% ABV.
- Lifespan: 5 to 10 years.

The Occasion

This is a wine that needs no occasion — we love it best on its own, savored slowly while something simmers on the stove. That said, if you feel like pairing it, tomato pasta or pizza make for a wonderful match on a weeknight, just for fun.

The winemaker

Jem Macy

Jem Macy has spoken of honing her winemaking instincts by tasting alongside "really great tasters", but equally through a restless spirit of exploration. Guided by the conviction that the finest wines are born of the gentlest touch, and that old vines alone can give wine its full complexity, she has woven this almost artistic vision into everything Fanciulle estate, founded in 2019, stands for.
