Wine No 4 from
Grains d'Estuaire
Arcane 2023
IGP Charentais
Green harvesting has concentrated Arcane's aromas and softened its tannins to a rare silkiness. True to its name, this is a wine that reveals itself slowly — a mystery that rewards patience.
The Craft
- Green harvest and leaf removal.
- Whole berries.
- Hand-punching in oak casks.
- Aged 6 months in barrels.
- 12% ABV.
- Lifespan: 5 to 7 years.
The Occasion
Grains d'Estuaire is an estate where a winemaker and a chef work side by side — and it shows. Arcane is a wine made with the table in mind, finding its fullest expression alongside white meat or goat cheese.
Julien Bonneau
Julien Bonneau grew up in a region where wine is a family tradition — and one he always intended to carry forward. Together with Alexandre Lavigne, a restaurateur and close friend, he created Grains d'Estuaire: a range of wines as rooted in a place, Charente-Maritime, as they are in the two men's shared sensibility and taste.
