I'm a nerd, I want every detail
"Escaravay" means beetle in the local Occitan language, a nickname given by villagers to the 17th-century owners of this land. This wine is a blend of Grenache and Syrah, grown on old vines that are tended with the respect due to cherished elders. The result is a wine of remarkable intensity, boasting notes of jammy black fruit, thyme, and leather. This is not a wine for the faint of heart. But drinking it makes you feel like you’re living to the absolute fullest.

Gilles et Madeline Ferran
In 1953, Jean-Louis Ferran fell in love with a ruined farmhouse in Rasteau, where he, along with his sons Daniel and Jean-Pierre, began planting vines and realized their dream of making wine. Gilles, Daniel's son, joined the estate in 1986 and, after training in oenology, together with his wife Laurence started vinifying in 1999, crafting wines with finesse and depth. The estate, now under the management of Gilles' daughter Madeline, works with diverse terroirs and over fifteen grape varieties, producing wines that express the unique characteristics of their land. Their underground cellar and varied winemaking techniques help enhance the potential of each vintage.
